The world of standardized tests never stands still. As of July 2023, TOEFL has rolled out an updated version of their test. This update includes changes in the test format and the types of questions that candidates face. As always, Off2Class is right there with you with a new series of TOEFL lessons, ensuring your students are prepared to tackle these new challenges head-on. “TOEFL Reading Practice – Introduction to Reading” (WIDA: Expanding+; CEFR: B2) is ideal for all students who are preparing to take TOEFL assessments.

Objective:

• To introduce the structure of the Reading Section of the TOEFL iBT®
• To examine the types of questions that appear in the Reading Section
• To look at the criteria used to score the answers

How should you teach this TOEFL reading practice lesson?

The reading section of TOEFL is the first section of the test. This lesson gives an overview of the reading section of the test, and delves into the various different types of texts and organizational styles.

The lesson will then introduce the different question formats and question types, followed by practice of answering reading questions.

Remember: If the student requires particular grammar or vocabulary to increase proficiency in Academic English, please consult our General English lesson content.
