At the end of the lesson, students can apply different reading strategies and respond to the content of a text about describing people.

How should you teach this lesson?

This reading lesson plan introduces various vocabulary words to describe people, such as caring, patient, energetic, friendly, brave, athletic. There will be accompanying images to help match these adjectives to — these will help provide context cues.

Then, students will read passages and answer questions. There will also be opportunities for students to describe different people based on the images provided. When doing so, remember to provide example responses as required.

There will be plenty of matching and gap-fill exercises, which will help students practice different reading strategies.

The lesson will cap off with a task to write about one of your student’s friends. Use the table on the slide to guide them through the exercise.
