We are excited to release Module 2 of the Off2Class ESL Newcomer Curriculum Training Program, an asynchronous training series designed for both new and experienced secondary ELD teachers of Newcomer students.

What is the Off2Class ESL Newcomer Curriculum Training Program?

The Newcomers Training Program is an asynchronous training series on effective teaching for Newcomer students. It is designed to help both new and experienced secondary ELD teachers.

After completing the program, teachers will be familiar with Newcomers’ unique challenges and needs, useful terminology related to Newcomers, and effective English language development strategies.

What does Module 2 of training program cover?

Module 2 explores:

• Resources for introducing and reinforcing new vocabulary
• Effective vocabulary instruction strategies
• Techniques for adapting Off2Class lessons to meet the needs of diverse learners

After completing this module, teachers will walk away with effective strategies for building essential vocabulary skills in their newcomer classrooms.
