When should you teach this ESL lesson for beginners?

“Countries” (WIDA: emerging) is a speaking lesson plan download aimed at newcomer students with low English proficiency levels. It is perfect for both individuals and groups. Use this lesson to introduce simple vocabulary and provide speaking practice for your students. At the end of the lesson, students will be able to ask and answer simple questions about daily routines.

How should you teach this ESL lesson for beginners?

This beginner ESL lesson introduces students to different countries and the basic vocabulary used to describe them. When introducing these words and phrases, remember to refer to the related images to provide context clues. The read and repeat sections will help students practice their pronunciation, word recognition, and overall understanding of the material.

This lesson also introduces prepositions related to describing where one is from, including from, in, around, between, and near.
