How to Build Trust with Your ESL Students – Webinar

Welcome to the second Off2Class webinar of 2017!

For this edition, we’ve invited Chris Rush from Better Business English to coach you on how to build trust with your ESL students.

Why is is it important for you to build trust with your ESL students? Think of trust as the key ingredient. It will allow you to enter into a positive relationship with a new student. It’s the gatekeeper. You won’t get a chance to show off how great of a teacher your are until you’ve established trust with your new student.
Communication with prospective students should be focused on establishing trust.
If you’re teaching online building trust is further complicated by the fact that you only have a digital relationship with the student (emails and hopefully a video call). Think about how much mistrust is present on the Internet! It’s not surprising that online ESL students are naturally mistrustful of new online teachers.
Today’s webinar is all about structuring your communication and consultation process so it has the maximum chance to build trust with your ESL students.
