The Off2Class District Advisory Council brings together experienced leaders from diverse districts across the country. These education experts help ensure our publishing roadmap and development priorities align with the real needs of English learners and their teachers.

A National Perspective

Our council members represent various frameworks, regions, and student populations, bringing diverse expertise in:

  • Student populations (newcomers, SLIFE, LTELs)
  • Educator needs (core instruction, EL specialists, para-professionals, volunteers, tutors)
  • Implementation models (RTI, MTSS, push-in, push-out, virtual & hybrid)
  • Adult & parent perspectives to leverage the home to school connection

Ryan A. LaBudda
Multilingual Transitions Coach
Kalamazoo Public Schools, MI

Ryan LaBudda is a graduate of Kalamazoo College and completed his study abroad in Oaxaca, Mexico. He has over 25 years of teaching experience, having worked as a paraprofessional, teacher, and Multilingual Coach at Kalamazoo Public Schools. He’s now using that experience to develop a newcomer program for students. For the past 20 years, Ryan has served on the Committee for the Kalamazoo Cesar Chavez March. He was honored with the first Juan and Mary Muniz Impacto Award in recognition of his community service. Ryan loves working with others in the Kalamazoo community to help improve educational opportunities for his students. He’s married with one child, and together they enjoy visiting new cities, exploring bookstores, biking trails, and checking out local bakeries.
