3 Free ELPA21 Practice Lessons

We’re excited to share three free test prep lessons, designed to help students prepare for state language proficiency assessments. Specifically, many district teachers use these lessons for ELPA21 practice. Check out more test prep lessons in our lesson library with a free Off2Class account!

 

Success on the ELPA21 requires strong academic language skills and strategies. Our targeted lessons help students master the complex vocabulary and concepts found in content-area texts. Each lesson includes:

ELPA21 Reading Practice – Introduction to Reading (ELPA21: Intermediate)

Introduction to Reading, the first of six reading-focused test prep lessons, introduces students to the general format of a Reading proficiency test using a variety of practice texts and question types. It includes built-in differentiation for mixed-level classes, real-world academic texts across content areas, and detailed teacher notes to minimize prep time.

ELPA21 Speaking Practice – Introduction to Speaking (ELPA21: Intermediate)

Introduction to Speaking, the first of six speaking-focused test prep lessons, introduces students to the general format of a Speaking proficiency test. Using a variety of practice texts and question types, students will learn the vocabulary and language structures needed to discuss complex topics.

ELPA21 Writing Practice – Introduction to Writing (ELPA21: Intermediate)

Introduction to Writing, the first of six writing-focused test prep lessons, introduces students to the general format of a Writing proficiency test. Using practice questions and sample responses, students begin learning how to craft coherent responses that demonstrate their mastery of academic concepts.
