Are the lessons in American English or British English?

We had to make a decision a while back to choose one variety of English, so all new lessons are published in Standard North American English.

Ultimately, our teachers wanted standardization and we had to go with what the majority of students are learning. We’ve decided not to add notes for other forms of English. However, you’ll find plenty of examples of British English on the site, and it often makes great teaching moments with students.  Our approach is to avoid words that seem foreign, or grammatical usage peculiar to only one variety of English.  If you find something that seems non-standard, feel free to use the “Give us Feedback” button beneath the slide.
